A vehicle left the road and struck the side wing of this Berkshire period property. Masonry collapsed, floors were compromised, and a section of the listed fabric was left structurally unsafe. The main house remained occupied; the damaged wing could not.
The insurer required careful documentation, conservation officers needed a heritage-sensitive approach, and the owners needed a contractor capable of emergency shoring as well as specialist reinstatement on a tight programme.
Emergency shoring made the wing safe within hours. A full heritage survey informed strip-out and structural rebuild, with like-for-like materials and specialist finishes agreed with the insurer and conservation stakeholders.
Our project lead coordinated fourteen trades across a twelve-week major loss programme — from temporary works through structural rebuild and decorative handback — returning the wing to its pre-impact character and the owners to full use of the house.
